The return of what has been described as the best show on TV — Game of Thrones — on Sunday was so popular that it caused HBO’s website to crash.

The website was down for the most part of the season premiere. Many website visitors reported that they were met with a ‘problem loading page’ error. However, the website returned to working order during the final half of the episode’s East coast premiere.

Also, HBO Now — HBO’s cable-free streaming service — experienced several glitches as users complained that it was either not loading or buffering very slowly.

Some affected users took to Twitter to voice their displeasure over not being able to watch the long-awaited premiere.

In response to the glitch, a spokesperson for HBO explained to Hollywood Reporter that “HBO Go was experiencing outages in Latin America on Sunday and that the team in the region was working to resolve the problems. But she added that HBO hadn’t seen any widespread on HBO Go or HBO Now in the United States.”
