Osun State government is starting an investigation to uncover the actual cause of Senator Isiaka Adeleke’s death, Naij reports. The aim, they said, is to put the record straight concerning the circumstances surrounding the Senator’s death.
The sudden death of Senator Isiaka Adeleke on Sunday, April 23 brought cold chills to those individuals who were quite familiar with him. A few days ago, he was in a town in Osun state campaigning and today, no more.
Several theories have sprung up concerning the cause of the senator’s death. ‘His death is not ordinary,’ some claimed, stating that he was poisoned, while some others suggested he died as a result of excessive dosage of drugs.
Being a two-time Nigerian senator who represented the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Osun State from 2007 to 2011, finding the cause of Senator Isiaka’s death has become a top priority for Osun state.
Rauf Aregbesola, the present Governor of Osun State, has set out to uncover the actual cause of the Senator’s death by setting up an investigative panel.
During a meeting in a hotel in Osogbo, Governor Aregbesola mentioned that Senator Adeleke was a man of peace who preached peace and lived it through his life. The Senator left the Peoples Democratic Party because he could not stand violence after he was beaten up by some leaders of the same political party.
Aregbesola also said that his administration had planned a befitting state burial for the late Senator but the plan was ruined by some individuals.
As we wait for the autopsy report and the investigative panel to reveal the actual cause of the Senator’s death, we’d continually hold on to his legacy.
Senator Isiaka Adetunji Adeleke was born in Enugu on 15th of January, 1955.
