President Muhammadu Buhari sent a letter to the Senate indicating that he doesn’t know when he would be returning the country.
The letter received was read by the Senate president, Bukola Saraki during plenary on Tuesday, May 9.
President Buhari also mentioned in the letter that only his doctors would be able to determine his return date to Nigeria.
Buhari traveled to the UK on Sunday for a medical follow-up as recommend by his doctors.
Meanwhile, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, the vice president would remain in charge and continue to coordinate the affairs of the country until the President is cleared to return back to Nigeria by his doctors.
According to Naij, a brief drama ensued after the president’s letter was read. A senator, Mao Ohabunwa countered the President’s order, saying there was no provision in the Nigerian constitution for a coordinating Vice President as stated in the President’s letter.
