President Buhari’s official Photographer, Bayo Omoboriowo, Thursday evening shared some pictures from the ongoing renovation at The Aso Villa, Abuja.
The photos, which he posted on his Instagram Stories, show a number of men — supposedly, construction workers — in blue uniforms and yellow rubber boots fixing interlocking blocks outside a section of the Villa.
Why this matters:
- On Tuesday, ThisDay reported that President Buhari will operate from home, indefinitely, due to ongoing renovation of his office
- According to a controversial statement by President Buhari’s aide Shehu Garba, the renovation was as a result of damages caused by “rodents.”
- The Newspaper quoted him saying: “Following the three months period of disuse [of the office], rodents [had] caused a lot of damage to the furniture and the air conditioning units”
What we don’t know at this moment is whether these renovations shown in the photos have anything to do with the President’s office. There was no reply to our request for comment at the time of publishing.
