Suicide bombers attack University of Maiduguri in Borno State — again

Remains of suicide bombers

About three suicide bombers attacked the University of Maiduguri in Borno State on Saturday at about 1:10 am.

They went for the Department of Works in the University, killing themselves and a security guard at the University.

According to Premium Times, the corpses have been evacuated by rescuers from the National Emergency Management (NEMA) and Borno State Emergency Management Agency (BOSEMA).

This attack would be approximately the third time the University of Maiduguri is being attacked by suicide bombers in 2017 alone.

A professor had also lost his life in one of their earlier dreadful attacks.

Although most of these suicide bombers and groups have lost most of their territories to the Nigerian military, their attacks have still been rampant.

If we however recall, the government released an undisclosed number of Boko Haram suspects in exchange for the release of the kidnapped secondary school girls in Chibok, Borno State.

There are now speculations if this attack is a statement by the terrorist group as a result of the recent release of the Boko Haram suspects in exchange for the 82 Chibok schoolgirls?
